Emporium Pharmacy will be closing up shop for the last time as of December 17 after more than eight years of service to the Cameron County Community. Owners Joel and June Caldwell, natives of the Emporium area, thanked residents for their loyalty, trust and patronage, and their employees, Bonnie, Julie, Lori and Justin, for their years of dedicated service in an advertisment on page 5 of this issue of the Echo. All prescriptions will be transferred to Rite Aid Pharmacy, located on East Allegany Avenue in Emporium, as of Monday, December 16. The Caldwells indicated that changes in the health care industry forced the move, including lower reimbursements for medications and services from insurances and Medicaid.
