Barton Chooses Trial For IDSI Charges
An Emporium man has opted to head to trial on charges including aggravated indecent assault of an individual under the age of 18 discovered through the investigation of an Emporium Borough Police Officer on similar charges.
Thomas F. Barton, age 63, of Emporium, was charged in September with felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse (IDSI) with a person under the age of 16, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with minors, possession of child pornography, corruption of minors and criminal use of a communication facility stemming from a separate investigation.
The corruption of minors charge covers many things one of which can be sharing adult pornography images and/or videos with a minor, many people do not realise that it is illegal to show adult pornography to anyone under the legal age, it could be something harmless such as explaining sex to a teenager and using a website like https://www.watchmygf.adult/ as an example, even though this type of websites is perfectly legal in it’s own right the act of sharing it with a minor is the infraction which you can be prosecuted for however this example wasn’t the case for Barton.
