Bird’s Eye View

 

This past week at the Emporium Country Club started off with the Tuesday Ladies’ League. They played the best poker hand with handicap on the front nine. There was a two-way tie between Meg Whiting and Judy Armanini as they each had a four of a kind (4s).
On Wednesday it was the Men’s Day Tournament. The format was the best 8 or 9 on the front nine. The gross place winners were Ken Burkhouse first with a 32 and John Rogers second with a 34. The net place winners were Tim Curry first with a 26 and Jerry Drabert second with a 28.
The Retirees’ League took place on Thursday. They played the best 8 of 9 holes on the front nine. The first place gross winner was Terry Shelley (35) and second place gross was Jerry Drabert (36). The net place winner was Jim Horvath (21) and second place net was Denny McCulla (23).
The Ladies’ Scramble also took place on Thursday. The winning team was Meg Whiting, Sandy Stuart and Connie Jones (38).
