Bird’s Eye View

Things seem to be slowing down at the Emporium Country Club, but what great golf weather we have been blessed with this first week of October. It’s always a pleasure to play this time of year other than trying to find your ball in the leaves.
Sunday was the Member Appreciation Tournament. We had 78 players participating this year, which is a great turnout. We all enjoyed a great day of golfing, followed by a delicious spaghetti and meatball dinner prepared by Beth and staff. I would like to give a shout out to my sister, Barb, who made the meatballs.
First place went to Tom Kerstetter, Charlie Newlen, Vinnie Massaro, Don Thorsten and Pat Lewis (63), second place was Joe Beichner, Matt Grimone, Butch Gennocro and Ed Stuart (63), third place was Joel Thompson, Ron Stuckey, Connie Jones and Jan Lutz (64), fourth place was Jim Jones, Harvey Redcay, Dick Logue and Gene Ray (64), fifth place was Harry Jones, Jerry Hunsinger, Linda Slyder and Kevin Fowler (65), sixth place was Dick Woodruff, Meg Whiting, Don Krebs and Ada Krebs (65), seventh place was Bill Serafini, Jesse Francis, Mick Fapore and Bob Smith (65), and eighth place was Dave Hallowell, Darby Roberts, Marie Fannin and Tony Villella (65).
