Boro To Adopt Parking Ban

Emporium Borough Council is expected to adopt an ordinance clearing up a parking issue on 6th Street Extended at its April 2 meeting.

The new ordinance comes as a result of citizen concerns over on street parking creating a traffic issue.

Parking vehicles in the immediate area can create a situation where emergency, borough and commercial vehicles have trouble gaining clear passage on the roadway.

The ordinance would prohibit parking on both sides of the street from the intersection of Oak Hill Lane to a property line at 127 East 6th Street Ext.

Parking on the southeast side of Spring Street to the intersection of Oak Street would be prohibited to a property line on 410 Spring Street.
