Busy Summer Planned at County Historical Society

First things first.  There are only two days left to sign up for the “Historical Scavenger Hunt” at the Chamber of Commerce.   The deadline is Thursday, May 31st.   Hurry and stop by for all the details  of this month long event that anyone can participate in and learn some fantastic history about your county.

The Little Museum in Sterling Run opened this past weekend honoring Memorial Day and will be open every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 p.m. until October. Thanks to an amazing grant from the Emporium Foundation they now offer an air conditioned environment for visitors’ comfort along with new lighting for all the rooms and displays. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon.

Plus History Center on Greenwood Street in Emporium is still open year ‘round every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and by appointment for those of you who want to dig deeper into our county’s history or your own family roots.  The Center is well staffed with local historians and genealogists who can guide you on your way.
