Boro Police Warn Of Facebook Military Scam The Emporium Borough Police have received several reports of borough residences being scammed. The latest scams have gone as follows. The person will impersonate a military member overseas. Often times they hack a Facebook page, stealing photos and personal information of the person. The scammer will then message the victim either by Facebook messenger or via text message. They will use the pictures of service members and pose as them and have several techniques they use from there. Victims said they have used the lonely trick and get the victim to either fall for them or feel bad for them. One scammer actually told the victim he is a service member overseas and that due to his/her bank account being hacked they need you to send them money.
