Celebrate Migratory Birds at the Park

International Migratory Bird Day is Saturday, May 12th. Celebrate birds this weekend with a variety of programs at Sinnemahoning State Park. Also, if you’re a keen bird watcher and you’re wanting to see various different species of birds in different environments, you could search around online for different bird watching vacation packages either locally or abroad, this way you’ll also be able to pick your destination and the types of birds and environment you want to be in, whether it’s eagles over cliffs, or watching bird flocks in their natural rainforests when they are the best to view in various locations, times and seasons, you’ll also have your own personal guide depending on what package you choose.

A Spring Morning Pontoon Tour, will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Lake Day Use Area. Treat yourself to a relaxing morning aboard the pontoon boat in search of mergansers, herons, eagles and other wildlife. No fee. Catered meal will NOT be served; bring your own coffee and snacks. Limited to 12 participants. Pre-registration is required.

Eagle nest watch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Wildlife Viewing Area. The baby eagles at the Berge Run nest are now almost as big as their parents. Volunteers will be available to answer questions about the bald eagles of Sinnemahoning State Park and assist with locating and viewing the nest.
