The Cameron County High School Lady Red Raider varsity softball team hosted the Clarion Lady Cats last Wednesday in the opening round of the District 9 Class A Championship Tournament but were ousted by the visitors, 12-0.

The sixth seeded Lady Cats from the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference took advantage of an inexperienced third seeded CCHS squad and won easily, ending the Lady Raiders’ season.

Cameron County managed just one hit off of Sadie Rudesyle, the winning pitcher who struck out fifteen and did not allow a base on balls. In fact, Alyvia McKimm’s double over the Clarion right fielder’s head was the only baserunner allowed by Rudesyle.
