Climate Clamor

by William Crisp   It is February 1st and I am watching the Super Bowl:  The last football game of the season and the beginning of the long, cold off-season of non-football until August. It is also the anniversary of a memorable time in my life. Ironically, as I sit I am looking at storm warning for “Winter Storm Linus.” It wasn’t long ago that we didn’t name snow storms or snowy days-they were just snowy days. In fact, I can prove it because today is the anniversary of the last day of “The Blizzard of ‘77.” It still doesn’t have a name; it is just what we named them then. Snow storms are normal in January and February as well as a few other months. June and July storms would be name worthy, if they ever happened.
