Community Loses Prominent Citizen

The community of Cameron County lost one of its most prominent citizens with the passing of Glen Fiebig last week.
Fiebig was originally from the Norristown area of southeastern Pennsylvania, but moved to Cameron County while serving as a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper nearly 40 years ago. He stayed on with state police for 30 years total, and made Emporium his home, even after his retirement.
Glen was involved with the community throughout his life, serving as an instrumental part of a number of boards and organizations. While his biggest claim to fame in Cameron County was likely his more than 30 years as director of the Cameron County Little League, where he served in capacities spanning from officiating games to mowing fields and cleaning up the dugouts, there was no job at the field he was unwilling to do; and most residents who grew up here remember seeing him riding a mower or tractor around the fields whatever time of the day they happened to be riding by.
