County Court Orders Warrant For New York Man

A warrant was issued for a New York State resident who has failed to appear at several scheduled hearings in the Cameron County Court of Common Pleas.
Arthur Viall Alpaugh, III, age 40, of Waverly, New York, had been scheduled to appear for a plea on charges of theft from a motor vehicle stemming from an incident alleged to have occurred in September of last year.
Alpaugh was also scheduled for a hearing last month but did not report. His attorney, George Daghir, stated that he had been living in Sayre but letters sent to his address were returned undeliverable. Daghir later found an alternate address for him in New York State and letters for this month’s hearing were not returned to the courthouse.
District Attorney Jeanne Miglicio motioned for a bench warrant to be issued for Alpaugh’s arrest, and for his bail to be revoked. Daghir lodged no objections as he believed his client did receive the hearing notice, as it was sent to his father’s address.
