County Court Return Day
Two defendants were resentenced on old charges due to violations of their probation terms during Return Day proceedings held Tuesday at the Cameron County Courthouse.
Norman Francis Pettit, age 22, of Emporium, will serve out the remainder of the twelve month maximum he was sentenced to serve due to a previous probation violation in November of 2016.
Pettit entered the original guilty plea to one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief, for which he was sentenced to serve one year on probation. Due to not following the terms of the probation sentence, Pettit was resentenced in November to serve 57 days to 12 months in jail on the charge, and was released after serving the minimum sentence.
