County Dodges Weekend Flood Bullet

For the most part, Cameron County escaped major consequences from weekend flooding in the Northcentral Region.

“We pretty much dodged a bullet,” said Cameron County Emergency Management Agency director Kevin Johnson.

Neighboring counties, including Potter, McKean and Elk were not as lucky.

“It was close for a time,” continued Johnson. “As it turned out, we didn’t have any major road closures and no one was forced from their homes.”

The county was hit by heavy rain last Thursday and into Friday morning. This caused small streams and larger waterways to rise rapidly.
