One defendant was sentenced on a charge of possession of paraphernalia during last week’s Return Day proceedings, despite the statute of limitations having expired on that charge.

Shawn Daniel Armstrong, age 43, of Reynoldsville, entered a guilty plea to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and will serve one year on probation.

Discussions during court between visiting Judge Timothy Creary, of Cambria County, Armstrong and his defense attorney, Public Defender Tabia Cole, revealed that Armstrong intended to enter a guilty plea to this count in order to keep from being prosecuted on more serious offenses.
