Earth Day Celebrated at Woodland

Since its inception in the U.S. in 1970, Earth Day has been celebrated annually throughout the world on April 22 as a day of environmental awareness.

To celebrate Earth Day, Cameron County High School (CCHS) Outdoor Club, CCHS Envirothon Team, Cameron County Conservation District (CCCD), Emporium Garden Club and Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities (CCOYA) presented a program to Woodland Elementary 3rd grade students.

Todd Deluccia, District Mgr. of CCCD explained the important role their Team, Kate Morgan and Jen Copp-Dixon play to ensure the wise use of our natural resources. That is to conserve, protect and restore the natural environment through the conservation of its soil, water and related resources.
