First Meet of Season For Track Team

The Cameron County High School varsity track and field team had their first meet of the season last Thursday as they traveled to Sheffield to take on Sheffield and Eisenhower. The girls defeated Sheffield 64-40 but lost to Eisenhower 133-8. 

Against Sheffield, Madison Harrier won the 300m hurdles in 1:06, Alayna Genevro took the 100m in 14.3, and the 800m in 3:18, Molly Abriatis won the 200m in 41.3, and Kristen Hamilton won the 1600m in 9:31. Kennedy Chmelar won the high jump with a leap of 4’6”, Amily Schatz won the discus with a toss of 62’2” and Corrine Burnside won the javelin with a throw of 54’5”.
