From the Bleachers

Some difficult news for local baseball fans was recently sent out on the Alle-Catt baseball Facebook page; the league appears to have finally folded. In talking with Ralph McKimm, only two teams were interested in entering this season. The league has had a long and interesting history but waning interest by players has become the norm in recent seasons. What remains to be seen is whether any local players might seek out other leagues either in New York State or in Clearfield or Jefferson counties.

The Baguba wrestling team has also suffered a setback this season as five wrestlers have been dismissed from the team, leaving Cameron County with just five wrestlers, none of whom have any extensive varsity experience. I don’t have any idea what the future of the program might be but it is hard to imagine CCHS without a wrestling team.
