From the Bleachers

The Pittsburgh Pirates will end their season today (Sunday) and it has been a second straight poor season after some much loftier pre-season expectations. It was impossible to predict that their leadoff hitter and gold glove left fielder Starling Marte would be suspended for eighty games for using performance enhancing drugs and their starting third baseman and projected clean-up batter Jung Ho Kang would be unable to obtain a work visa to come over from South Korea due to his penchant for drunk driving in his home country.

Still, it was hard to justify both manager Clint Hurdle and general manager Neal Huntington getting four year contract extensions, although as we know, they can be fired at any time.
