From the Bleachers

The second consecutive one win season has come to an end for the Cameron County High School Red Raider varsity football team and it is time to confront what the future holds for the program. While the results are hardly unprecedented, other factors put viability of the team in coming seasons at a crossroads.

It is extremely important to not have a knee jerk reaction to several seasons that were unsuccessful in so far as wins are concerned. If students are afforded an educational opportunity, an activity is a worthwhile endeavor and football provides an excellent opportunity to learn teamwork and how to successfully get along with peers. In an age where emails and texts have replaced face-to-face communication, socialization has become an especially important value that is learned in football.
