From the Bleachers

I’m having a great sports weekend. After going to Kane on Friday night for the Raiders’ playoff game my wife and I got to see the Pittsburgh Penguins win at the PPG Paints Arena on Saturday afternoon (thanks to my kids for the Christmas present tickets) and then stay in Slippery Rock overnight. No trip to The Rock is complete without a trip to the North Country Brewing Company for dinner and beer. I had an “Ol Two-Niner Double IPA,” which is named for retired Penguin left winger Phil Bourque. Although that was a good brew, I opted to finish my night with a “Stinky Hippie” IPA which I actually liked a little better despite the name. The only downside is that I missed a trip to Bob’s Sub and Sandwich shop.

The coup de grace was returning home on Sunday afternoon to watch Nate Sestina and his Bucknell Bison teammates bum rush Boston University right out of the arena on CBS Sports Network in the Patriot League Tournament. Bucknell will play Colgate on Wednesday night for the tourney championship at 7:30, which will also be available on CBS Sports Network.
