The school year is coming to an end. When I look on the sports season two athletes have stood out, and both are Lady Red Raiders. Both Kamme Guisto and Laila Smith were important contributors on the CCHS girls’ basketball team, but both were far more important in other sports.
Guisto was all-everything for the CCHS track team. She now holds the school record for the triple jump and long jump, is creeping up on the high jump record and to be truthful, she was probably their best sprinter and hurdler too, although she can only compete in so many events. She may have not had her best jump at the PIAA State meet at Shippensburg University on Saturday, but making states is an accomplishment in itself.
