There was a great day of competition at the Portage Township Recreation Complex on Saturday with the Emporium Men’s Softball League holding their year-end tournament and the Emporium Alle-Catt baseball team hosting Crosby in a playoff game. Congratulations are in order for the Buttonwood Restaurant Honky Spuds softball team, which scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat East End Beverage in the finals of the tourney. Paulie Haviland came up with the big hit for the Buttonwood to plate the winning run.
