What seemed like was going to be a long holiday has quickly evaporated, but in between trips to Columbus, Ohio, Slippery Rock, Danville and the Pittsburgh airport, I still managed time to watch my share of sports. Pitt won their bowl game, the Pens are on a serious roll despite a slew of injuries, and most incredibly at this writing the Steelers are just a victory by the Kansas City Chief’s reserves over the Chargers of making the playoffs despite a final 8-8 record. It will probably not happen, and by press time Pittsburgh will have been eliminated, but at least it made the last week of the NFL season interesting for us fans of the black and gold.
