From the Bleachers

with Rich Summers

On cold winter nights when I walk the last block of Sixth Street with snow freezing in my hair and wind stinging my face and whistling in my ears, I sometimes wonder why I leave the house for a high school basketball game or wrestling match. After all, without doing too many calculations I can honestly put my attendance of games in the thousands.

The Cameron County varsity coaches and statisticians are a good bunch and would supply me enough to write the game stories whether I showed up or not.
