From the Bleachers

This is a real exciting time of the year despite the sub-zero temperatures. With the District 9 basketball playoffs and wrestling championships there will be plenty to do in the next two weeks. It has been a pretty successful winter season for Cameron County High School sports and it bears a little recap for each.

The Bagubas have won more dual matches than any team in school history and should have a strong showing at the District 9 Class AA tournament in Clarion. Heavyweight Jack Karsten should be a favorite to place and advance to regionals with his gaudy 26-1 mark and Brandon Saline (26-2) and Paul Etchepare (26-2) have powered the Bagubas all year. Also making strong bids for the podium will be Austin Smoker, Jacy Langley, Ethan Vislay and Rusty Setzer.
