In recent years I have already been anticipating the start of baseball, softball and track at this time of year, but the weatherman must have known that the Cameron County winter sports teams were not ready to call it a year. Jack Karsten and Brandon Saline will be traveling to Sharon High School for the PIAA Northwest Regional wrestling tournament on Friday and Saturday with a trip to the state tournament at the Giant Center in Hershey on the line.
The Red Raider basketball team is in the semifinals of the District 9 Class A championships this week and have also qualified to enter the PIAA Western Region tournament beginning next weekend. Some could have predicted those results based on the regular season success of the participants.
