From the Bleachers

The Lady Raider softball team and Red Raider baseball team had difficult home openers this weekend as both were pummeled in doubleheaders by Oswayo Valley. The impressive thing I took away from Saturday afternoon, however, was how well drilled the Green Wave teams were. The Oswayo Valley softball team has long been a doormat, but the team I watched Saturday played fundamentally sound ball and fielded all the easy plays without errors. The Lady Raider team showed just what can be expected when a majority of the squad has played very little, if any, softball.

Equally as impressive was the OV baseball team. The Green Wave always field a pretty good team but they were in position on every play on defense and the hitters worked themselves into good counts and hit pitches they could handle.
