With the CCHS spring sports season coming to an end my schedule will lighten up a little bit and I will be able to spend some evenings at the Cameron County Little League Field catching some of the little kids’ games. After watching high school all year where there is enormous pressure to win, it is fun to watch the kids even though the quality of play is at a lower level.
I read where Jon Songer decided not to return as Red Raider basketball coach and though I’m glad he made the decision that is best for him, continuity might once again be a problem for coaching in Red Raider sports. It also brings up the question why anyone would coach a high school sport.
