I need to congratulate a couple of Red Raider athletes who have completed their seasons but are still receiving awards. CJ Markum, a graduating senior at Cameron County High School, received a $1,000 scholarship from the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame. Markum was honored along with fifteen other central Pennsylvania high school football players at the banquet held at the Penn Stater Conference Center on March 25th. Penn State head football Coach Bill O’Brien was the featured speaker at the prestigious event. CJ has recently accepted an academic scholarship and will be attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, where he will be majoring in Nuclear Engineering.
