Fuel Oil Spill In Hunts Run

A tributary of Hunts Run is being monitored following a spill that leaked more than 100 gallons of fuel oil onto the ground.

Members of the Emporium Volunteer Fire Department (EVFD) were called out to a private residence in the Hunts Run area where a fuel oil tank was leaking liquid onto the ground at approximately noon on Sunday.

Cameron County Emergency Management Director Kevin Johnson stated that the 275-gallon fuel oil tank was only partially full, but the owner was unable to estimate how much was left inside when it began leaking.
