Garden Club Kicks Off New Year
The Emporium Garden Club kicked off their new year with a fabulous dinner catered by Jen Abriatis and a very lively beekeeping program by Ryan Magaro. The 30 members and guests were educated on the many facets of beekeeping and the value of the honey bees along with the various products the Magaro family has developed with the use of honey, beeswax and many other essential oils. The highlight of the evening was the awarding of four door prizes consisting of products including honey, soap, lip balm and hand lotion and the winners were: Darlene Davis, Marcy Boswell, Maria Aaron and Nancy Vierhaus.
With it being National Garden Month and Earth Day the members are going to be doing litter pick-up on the 22nd of April along the first three miles of Route 120W. They will meet at the Veterans’ Memorial Park at 8 a.m. and will be done at approximately 10 a.m.
