Grants Available To Local Fire Departments
Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson recently encouraged local fire departments to apply for federal grant assistance to help with fire prevention and safety efforts.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Fiscal Year 2016 Fire Prevention and Safety Program is currently open and will close on Friday, May 19 at 5 p.m. ET.
“This is a great opportunity for our departments to obtain federal funding to promote fire prevention and safety education,” Thompson said. “The purpose of this program is to enhance the safety of both the public and firefighters with respect to fire and fire-related hazards. I encourage departments to take a look at this funding opportunity.”
