Historical Book on First Fork Available

A new book is available from the Cameron County Historical Society. First Fork of the Sinnemahoning Creek was researched by Glenda (Neenan) Card and was written by Dianne (Connelly) DeShong.

This book is packed full of the earliest history of the First Fork, primarily Cameron County; although, when history and families connected to Potter County it was included.

The book includes the initial settlers such as Wm. Nelson, Logues, Zoschgs, some legends such as the story of “Adler Rock”, maps, reasoning and history behind the names of the area. Many pictures and history on the schools, (there were many) lumbering, newspaper articles, and organizations depicting the life on First Fork;  obituaries, hunting, farming, flooding, and stories of those we lost under severe circumstance.
