Japanese Knotweed Program

The Bucktail Watershed Association, a non-profit watershed group based in Emporium, has started up their seasonal Japanese knotweed control program. Japanese knotweed is a very aggressive non-native plant that invades stream banks, but will also take over roadsides and other areas.
During the month of September, contractors working for the BWA will be treating knotweed with herbicide from a truck with a tank or using backpack sprayers.
