Lady Raider Volleyball Team Falls In League Opener

The Cameron County High School Lady Red Raider varsity volleyball team traveled to Ulysses to take on Northern Potter High School last Thursday night in their North Tier League opener but was swept by the Lady Panthers 25-20, 25-10, and 25-17.
Demi Youse had thirteen points including seven aces to pace the home team.

Was glad to see Red Raider senior Nate Sestina signed a letter of intent to play college basketball at Bucknell University. I remarked to one of my colleagues last season that Sestina was the best player I had ever seen at CCHS. There was disagreement when the names of Bill Leonard, Matt Grimone, Bill Vassallo and Brandon Housler were brought up, guys whom are generally considered the Mt. Rushmore of Raider basketball, but I stick by my opinion.
