The Cameron County High School Lady Red Raider softball team had two league games last week on the road and split the contests. On Wednesday they were beaten at Coudersport but on Friday rebounded to defeat Port Allegany.

At Coudersport, the Lady Falcons broke open a tight game with five runs in the sixth inning to win going away, 12-3.

The Lady Raiders fell behind early but couldn’t get over the hump as Coudersport pitcher Shae Black shut down the CCHS offense and picked up the win in relief.

“Shae Black’s pitching was the difference in the game,” said Lady Raider Coach Ralph McKimm.

“We hit Madison Smith both times this year, but Black had our hitters off balance with a nice fastball and even better change up.  She didn’t tip off her pitches and we were never really sure what speed was coming at us.”
