Lady Raiders Top OV In Extra Innings, Fall To DCC

The Cameron County High School Lady Red Raider softball team had a pair of home games last week and split the contests.
On Wednesday they defeated the Oswayo Valley Lady Green Wave in a wild come-from-behind-extra inning affair, but on Friday they were beaten by DuBois Central Catholic, the defending District 9 Class A Champions, in five innings.
On Wednesday, visiting Oswayo Valley built a 9-5 lead heading to the Lady Raiders’ final at bat but ultimately succumbed to the home team in eight innings, 10-9.
The Lady Green Wave took an early 4-0 lead but could not hold off a game CCHS squad. In the bottom of the seventh inning Ashlea Burgett got the rally started with a leadoff walk before scoring on a Kelsee Reid double to make it 9-6. Kaitlyn Burgett then walked before Reed scored on a Taylor Britton single.
