Local Crews Battle Wildfire In Cameron
A wind driven brush fire had crews on scene for several hours Sunday in the area of 156 Steam Mill Road near the village of Cameron.
“We had a small fire when I first arrived on scene,” said Emporium Volunteer Fire Department chief Butch Housler. “Within minutes it was halfway up the hill. Dry conditions and gusting winds kept pushing the fire.”
