‘Motorcycles’

Good morning Kent:

I read the Echo and also your popular column and after reading about the Whistling Plumber’s motorcycle, I started to think about the “Good Ole’ Days.”

I just talked to Inez Jordan, his daughter, about who bought the motorcycle! My brother, Bob graduated in 1945 and was drafted. His friend was Rich LaBrozzi and they planned on going to Lock Haven to further their studies. It was a problem for both of them – no car and could not afford one. Down the road he saw a motorcycle for sale. It was W. P. Cycle. When he went up to the house with it my dad said, “What’s this?” Bob said, “Rich’s and my transportation to Lock Haven. I couldn’t afford a car.” He called Rich and told him he would pick him up for a ride!
