A sudden warm spell in February, 1973 melted the ice and brought the beaver dams and streams to above normal levels. 

I was in a rush to recover my traps before I lost them in deep water. Running a beaver line in the Pocono Mountains over 100 miles from home made returning when water levels dropped impractical.
