WILDFIRES

As a Forest Fire Warden for over 30 years, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that debris burning is the leading cause of wildfires. Please consider the following:

Wildfire season begins in March and lasts until green vegetation takes over the landscape.

• Compost yard waste. Don’t burn it.

• If you must burn household waste, do it in a ventilated barrel with a screened lid.

• Don’t burn on dry, windy days.

• Rake dried grass and leaves away from burn barrel.

• Don’t burn in or along a forest edge.
