New Mayor On the Block On Crash Learning Course

What started out as a search for a new challenge has turned into a crash course in government for Justin M. Zimmer.

Justin, 36, took office as mayor of Emporium in January, replacing long time mayor and public servant Bruno Carnovale.

“When Bruno retired as mayor, I decided to become involved,” relates Justin.

“At that time, I had no idea how government worked, but I’ve been learning hands-on ever since. It’s been a crash course.”

Zimmer is a native of Emporium, the son of Ward Zimmer and Julie Catalone. He graduated from Cameron County High School in 2000.

Justin worked for many years at Emporium Hardware, a business owned by his late grandfather, Henry Zimmer.
