The third seeded Cameron County High School Red Raider basketball team traveled to Port Allegany last Thursday night to take on seventh seeded Austin in the opening round of the 2018 District 9 Class A playoffs and drubbed the Panthers 66-32.

Unlike the first two meetings of the season between the two squads which were close affairs, the Red Raiders took control from the opening tipoff and were never challenged by their nearest neighbor.

Austin took CCHS down to the final buzzer and nearly upset the Red Raiders in their game in Emporium just two weeks ago, but Raider Coach Mark Guido and his staff was having none of it in their first game of the D9 Tournament. The Raiders pressured the Panther ball handlers and trapped from the outset forcing multiple turnovers to take an 18-4 lead after one period of play.
