The Cameron County High School Red Raider varsity baseball team took on three of the better teams in District 9 and came away with one win.

On Wednesday they dropped a decision to last year’s District 9 Class A runner-up Oswayo Valley and on Friday they upset a strong Elk County Catholic team, but on Saturday they ran short of pitching and were handled easily by Class AAA Bradford.

On Wednesday Garren Black was three for four with a home run and had a solid pitching outing to lead the visiting Oswayo Valley Green Wave past CCHS, 6-3.

Black pitched for all but one out, allowing three unearned runs and five hits while striking out thirteen. Adam Shaffer took the loss for the Red Raiders, going two innings allowing an unearned run on a walk while striking out two. Marcus Brown then gave up five runs, two earned, on seven hits and a walk.
