Program Chair for April 17, Shirley Condon (left) had Kim Farina as her guest speaker.

Kim took the group through her ordeal of going blind in her right eye and eventually having it removed.

Kim had researched Ocularists and settled on one in Hamburg, N.Y. The doctor there made a prosthetic eye which worked very well for 20 years. Because of changes in her body over the years, she had to have it removed, which left her wearing a patch over her eye for several years.

Kim has recently had a new prosthetic eye made which took many trips and several hours to perfect the eye.

The first doctor had passed away but Kim is very satisfied with the work of the new doctor, who originally was an apprentice art student but now has been a licensed Ocularist for 26 years.
