Salt Run Fishing Derby This Saturday
Youth are invited to the annual Salt Run Fish Fest this Saturday at Andrews Farm in Shippen Township.
On Saturday, April 15, at 8 a.m., fishing season officially opens in north central Pennsylvania. Registration for the youth event begins at 7:30 a.m.
“We are extremely proud of this event that has turned into one that the whole community looks forward to,” said Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities (CCOYA) organizer Don Bickford. “The weather outlook is promising for this year’s event.”
Participants ages 12 and under can fish in the Salt Run stream or the pond on the property, both of which are expected to be stocked prior to the opening day of fishing season. Water conditions are ideal this year for stocking, said Bickford.
