Search Warrant, New Charges Filed In Murder Investigation

A search warrant has been filed concerning an Emporium man charged with homicide in late October.

Michael Fuller Courtney, age 34, has been charged with murder in the first degree and related counts following an incident alleged to have occurred on Wednesday night, October 26th, in the Emporium Borough. Courtney was arraigned at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday morning by Magisterial District Judge Barry Brown at the Cameron County Courthouse. He was denied bail during the hearing due to the severity of the charges and potential for risk to the community.
