Serious Game With a Funny Name:

Pickleball Has Come To Emporium

If you have noticed groups of people and lots of activity on the parking lot of the Free Methodist Church as you drive down Fourth Street, you have witnessed the newest activity to come to Emporium.

Pickleball is here to stay. There were 16 people playing last Sunday night, seven of them were new to the game.

The game was invented by a man in the Seattle, Washington area years ago, as he was trying to find ways to keep his children occupied during the summer months.  The story goes that his dog, named Pickles, would retrieve the balls and so the game was named.
