Shippen Has Illegal Dumping Problem

The gate leading to the Shippen Township municipal building property must be locked evenings and weekends due to illegal drop-offs of refuse items.
Several weeks ago, several mattresses and other large items were placed into a dumpster, filling it to overflowing, without paying the required fees. As there were no employees on site, it is not even certain if the offender was a resident or not.
Items can be dropped off for disposal at the township building, but only during hours when the office is open. Fees may be charged for larger items, but costs are kept reasonably low so residents will be motivated to dispose of garbage properly. Details can be obtained by contacting the township office.
